Breakfast Time Never Looked So Cute!

I snapped a few pictures this morning of Noah feasting on his favorite breakfast food…Cheerios!

I’ve said this a million times, and you’ll hear me say it a million more; I’m so in love with this little boy!

Being a dad is awesome.

What do your children like to eat for breakfast?

Rick Smith

Hi, I'm Noah's Dad and I'm passionate about giving the world a window into our life as we raise our son who was born with Down syndrome. I also enjoy connecting with other families, so let's stay connected.

  • he's soooo cute!! Makes me miss the days of infancy/toddlerhood...... Cheerios was my boys' #1 finger food, that is.... until they discovered fruit loops!! :)

have a wonderful rest of the week and holiday weekend, Rick and family!

    • oh and as far as their favorite breakfast foods... at ages 13 and 10 ... POPTARTS!!! ;) Though they do enjoy a good home-cooked meal of cheesy scrambled eggs, bacon (for my younger son), sausage (for the older) and toast with a cool glass of milk!

  • I have a question .. My son Noah is almost 19 months and I have no help here where I live for any therapies for him .. I was wondering if you might know of any organizations that will point me in the right direction for help with that... He is standing and trying to walk he started counting the other night to the number 2 . I work with him daily on his leg muscles and other things but a little help would be nice. He is coloring with crayons at times not such a good Idea but I love his pictures even the one line ones ... He is advanced in some areas but I am worried he is not walking soon enough .. When I had him I told the Dr he had downs syndrome I seen it in his face his eyes. The Dr asked me point blank if I wanted to keep him which made me so mad I threw her out of the room. I just dont have any where to turn to his family Dr is not much help on this matter either .. any advice or help .I would be so grateful for ... Your Noah is such a beautiful little boy he makes me smile when I see his photo ... My son was born Nov 1 , 2010 . Thank you and God Bless your family and your wonderful angel Noah

    • @Ida,

Where are from? Are yo in the United States, or elsewhere?

Thanks for the kind words about Noah by the way. :)

  • omg how cute is he love the pics he getting big fast daddy you got your roller blades yet your gonna need them to keep up with him ..........morning noah have a great day .

  • Super cute!! :)
My boy loves Cheerios, snacking throughout the day. Most mornings he likes apple cinnamon oatmeal cereal. He likes toast and fruit too.

  • He is pretty darn cute! Thank God for Cheerios huh? Also, if you scroll through the pics fast enough it's almost like a movie. :-)

    • Hahaha that's funny!

Thanks for the kind words. I hope your guys are doing well. What's new in yall's world?

  • He is so expressive! And he's starting to look like a little man! Thank you so much for sharing.

    • Thanks for the kind words. I think he's starting to notice when a cameras around. :)

  • What a gorgeous boy!!! My kids have never gotten over their love of cheerios.

  • I cannot WAIT for James to self-feed! I have made sure every therapist knows that is top priority for me! This mama is ready to plop the Cheerios on the tray and let him have at it!

For some reason (texture or taste, I don't know), James is not a fan of Cheerios or puffs or any other dry finger food. But he has made HUGE progress in regards to eating, and we are feeding him oatmeal (the "real" kind, not quick cook, so lots of texture for him). I mash a banana and add cinnamon sugar to it. He's a fan!

    • Oh man...I'm about to post a video of Noah FINALLY being able to hold his bottle by himself. Man, oh man. I love feeding him, but it was so nice finally being able to give him a bottle that he could hold. :) And the self feeding this is ok to an extent..it's a mess! Pretty much every dinner requires a bath. Thankfully Cheerios aren't very messy. :)

By the way, when you say "the real" oatmeal, what do you mean? How's it different than the stove top kind? You guys are always rocking it so for all I know you guys are growing your own super organic oats in your back yard! :)

  • Oh Noah is adorable! Love the pics of him enjoying Cheerios! My 18 month daughter, Grace, likes Cheerios a bunch but goes crazy over pancakes! She inhales pancakes : ) The self feeding is messy for sure! I'm glad to hear y'all are still using a bottle. Grace drinks water from a sippy cup but gulps her milk from a bottle.

    • Oh man does Noah ever like Pancakes! :)

We're behind on our daily videos, but Noah doesn't do a bottle now. He does a straw cup.

In the videos he is still drinking from a bottle. It's a little confusing, which is why we're trying to get caught up asap.

By the way, are you on our Facebook page? Feel free to post some pictures of your little one. Everyone there enjoys pictures. :)
