Cooking with Kitty: A YouTube Chef with a Dual Diagnosis

I love seeing people with Down syndrome (and Autism) doing awesome things. As a technology nerd myself I especially enjoy people using the internet to do awesome things. Today I want to introduce you to Kitty. Kitty (Katherine) is 13 years old, likes to cook, had a dual diagnosis of Autism and Down syndrome, and has her very own cooking YouTube Channel: Cooking with Kitty.

On her YouTube channel Kitty, and her dad, teaches people how to make a banana bread, BBQ Chicken Nachos, and even a flourless chocolate cake!

Per her YouTube channel Kitty is using the skills she has learned through her occupational therapy (OT) and is using them cook and teach others also. I think that is pretty cool! I also thing the entire YouTube channel fun, creative and encouraging to others. I’m a fan!

Since I’m also fan of taco’s I thought I’d share one of her cooking videos below where
Chef Kitty makes Al Pastor Chicken Tacos!

Check out the Cooking with Kitty YouTube Channel and follow along on her cooking adventures! You can also visit her website as well!

  1. She does a great job. However, I would like to see her do more of the pouring in of the ingredients.

  2. Love Kitty’s YouTube Channel! She has come a long way since she first started and I think it’s so exciting. I love making her French toast!

It is wonderful that she has this opportunity to live a productive life with the help of her father. I watched her video in which she makes homemade tomato soup. She does a great job! I need more information however, regarding the recipe. How much chicken broth, flour, butter and tomato paste do they use? They don’t tell you during the video and I can’t find their recipe online. Can’t use this recipe if you don’t have all the amounts of the ingredients.
