Noah's Dad

One of my favorite cartoons growing up was The Muppet Babies.  Basically, the show was about little kid versions of the muppets all living together in this huge nursery (I assume they lived there since there’s never any mention of their parents, or them ever leaving the nursery!)  When their nanny (the only adult ever mentioned on the show) stepped out of the room they would let their imagination run wild.  Every item in their nursery could be transformed and used for there many adventures. Boxes could turn into race cars, umbrellas into light sabers, and blankets could turn into magic carpets.

It was an epic show!

3 Gifts That Everyone Has, And That Never Go Away

One strong theme of the Muppet Babies is the strong sense of wonder, curiosity, and imagination that children are born with.  You probably have many memories from your own childhood of playing cops and robbers with your brothers, or dress-up with your sisters.  What I find fascinating is that these traits don’t just come about when you started your first day of kindergarten (nor were they taken away when you became an adult!)  No, they were given to you long before that.  They were given to you by the Creator of the Universe when as He was knitting you together in your mother’s womb.  He created in you and I a passion for wanting to explore, and change, the world around us.

You come out of the womb full of wonder, curiosity, and imagination.  And it never goes away (even if you feel as if it does!)

Noah’s Adventure In Crib Land

It happens almost every day.  My wife or I lay Noah down for a nap, walk out, and within a few minutes hear what sounds like a mini-cirucs coming from Noah’s room.

Laugher.   Music.  Movement.  Fun.

It’s funny because when we took this video Noah couldn’t even crawl yet, but he someone finds a way to wiggle, and roll, form one end of his crib to the other (and turning on every toy along the way!) I was curious what Noah did as soon as we laid him down, so I sort of tip toped in his room just after lying him down…and today’s video is what I saw.

It was great.  You can see in the video that it took him a few minutes to realize I was there.  I can only imagine what sort of  fun adventure he was having before he realized I was there.

I’m looking forward to a life time of intentionally creating and finding ways for Noah to develop his God-given sense of wonder, curiosity, imagination, and creativity.   It’s so much fun watching this little boy become the person God has created him to be.  I’m one lucky dad.
