Noah and his mommy decided to have a little fun at the mall today with a few friends!
My wife has been working super hero type hours as she finishes up her residency at Children’s Medical Center here in Dallas, so hanging out at the mall isn’t something she gets to do very often.
In fact, she went into work at six p.m. the same night this video was taken!
See, I told you she’s a super hero.
It’s hard to believe she has less than a month until she’s officially finished with residency! We are so proud of her.
I can’t imagine there being a better mommy, wife, or doctor.
By the way, if anyone reading this is considering becoming a Doctor, it’s a lot of really hard work. You’ve been warned.
It’s Time For An Upgrade!
On a side note, if you tried to visit this site last night from 2 a.m. until early this morning, you may have received an error message.
Here’s a very quick version of what happened, and why it (hopefully) won’t happen again.
We started this site about a month ago, and within the first two weeks it was clear that people were interested in watching the daily one minute videos we post of our son. A lot of people.
The hosting company that hosts this site contacted me and suggested we move the site from a shared hosting environment to a virtual private server (VPS) at no extra charge. (Thanks!) Without getting to technical, a VPS is meant to handle much more traffic then a shared hosting plan.
Well…after two weeks of being on a VPS it was clear I needed an even more advanced hosting solution (which they tried to provide, but couldn’t.)
Thankfully, the president of Milk Engine, (who just so happens to be one of my best friends!) graciously offered to migrate and host NoahsDad.com on one of his private servers — for free!
(Which was why the site was down for a few hours early this morning as the migration was preformed. The site is now ready for any amount of traffic thrown at it, and you should experience very quick loading times throughout the site!)
Wow…! If you know anything about web hosting and the interwebs…..then you know how much of a blessing this is! Thanks, John!
A month ago when I posted the first video on this Noah’s Dad, I would have never have imagined the response being what it has been.
I knew that there were parents and soon-to-be parents out there searching the web for “Down Syndrome videos” and hoping to find videos online that would bring them hope and encouragement.
And maybe even a laugh or two!
However, it isn’t easy finding videos like that online (take my word for it!)
The great news is, based on the notes we’ve been receiving, it’s clear this site is doing just that. So it’s a win-win.
By the way, our goal is not to get “big” for “big-ness” sake. Our goal, rather we have 1 visitor, or 1 million visitors, is the same: To glorify God by giving the world an inside look into a family raising a child born with down syndrome.
And in turn, praying that lives (rather in the womb or out) could be seen as God intended for them to be seen.
A full, 100%, complete, person made in the very image of God, created for His glory.
We hope this site continues to do that.
Thanks again!
