After a long road trip, and a fun day of celebrating Noah’s mom yesterday, we decided to use day three of our vacation as a chill day!
Noah’s grandmother suggested we spend the afternoon at the Aspen Recreation Center, and I’m glad she did because it’s awesome!
The Aspen Recreation Center has tons of really fun (and affordable) activities for a family to enjoy. If you are ever in Aspen, and looking to take a break from the slopes (or the hiking) I highly suggest the Aspen Recreation center!
Ever since we took Noah for his first swim he’s been hooked. We wanted Grandma and Grandpa to see this little guy in full swim action; thankfully, the Aspen Recreation Center had a super fun heated indoor pool with several slides, water toys, and my personal favorite…a lazy river!
This was my first time taking Noah on a lazy river, and he had a blast! At first I was holding on to him (very tightly) and we just sort of floated around the river. Then one of the employees handed us a baby raft that Noah could get inside and ride on. And he really enjoyed it!
One of the physical characteristics of down syndrome is low muscle tone, and since Noah is still working hard on his core I was skeptical of him being able to use the raft.Much to my surprise he didn’t sink through the leg holes at all..in fact he did very well. He floated around the lazy river for a while, and was able to keep his head up the entire time!
Besides the lazy river, Noah had a ton of fun playing and goofing off with his cousins and grandparents. This was the first time for all of us to be together, and it was a ton of fun.
Our little Noah had a full day at the pool, and thankfully he didn’t get cranky at all.
I was (and am) super proud of this little guy!
Maybe all of that physical therapy is paying off after all!:)
I have always been a fan of the water. In fact, I’ll be completely transparent with you, I take baths.
Yelp, full on, bubble baths. Everyday.
It’s true.
In fact if you are my friend in real life, chances are you have gotten a FaceTime call from me in the bath.
It’s how I roll!
Thankfully It looks like my son is following in his father’s footsteps. Because this kid likes water!
Our iPads get a lot of use in our home. Beside having some great developmental apps, they also produce some fantastic story books for the iPad.
Noah and his cousin Guy had some fun interacting with one of my childhood favorites, There’s A Monster at the End of This Book. If you have an iPad I highly suggest checking out this incredibly awesome iPad story book, it’s a lot of fun!
Two questions for you…does your little one like the water? Can you tell yet? And what are some of your favorite “kid apps” for the iPhone / iPad?

Hi Noah's Dad,
Your doing such an amazing job with your blog!
I love how in this video, Noah just seems so fascinated by his cousin. It's so cute, it looks like he is studying him!
Thanks so much for sharing all of your adventures,
Dena (Mommy to Zevi- 7 months today!)
Dena,
Thank you so much for the kind words. I really appreciate that.
Yes, he was fascinated by his cousin, it was fun to watch!
Do you guys have a blog at all?
Also be sure to grab a Gravatar....so we can put a face with a name. :) -----> http://en.gravatar.com/
That's funny, I was going to same the same thing! He is more interested in Guy than the story! Too cute!
I love the video of the lazy river. That is a nice place. I want to take Noah to one too. Can't wait to see him.
Yes he was! And he can't wait to see you also.
We should try to visit the Great Wolf Lodge maybe...they have a waterpark with baby "stuff."
By the way...you need to get a Gravatar! :) -----> http://en.gravatar.com/
